The Cerema agency of Strasbourg is specialised in energy efficiency of historic buildings since 2007.

It manages the CREBA, the leading resource centre on the subject in France. The CREBA provides guidelines, tools, and resources to help professionals carry out restoration and renovation projects on old buildings while preserving their heritage value and improving energy efficiency. It also promotes a balanced approach that respects the architectural and cultural significance of historic buildings while meeting modern environmental standards.
Its platform offers a variety of resources, including best practices for insulation, air quality management, and materials selection, tailored to the specific needs of older structures. The goal is to ensure that renovations enhance both the sustainability and longevity of these buildings.
